Media used include GMA garnet, Armex soda blasting, Ibix calcium carbonate, organic materials (walnut shell, corn etc.), glass bead, plastic bead, dry ice. Sizes 38μm – 1200μm.

Ibix systems only require one operator. Their compact size means your blaster can be operated without causing disruption even in high traffic areas. Light weight and compact design mean it can be lifted into restricted spaces, and used on roofs, scaffolds etc. Ibix blasters used in open spaces do not require bulky protection gear mounted around them.

Using safe inert media like quality Australian garnet or calcium carbonate, means your compact Ibix blaster can safely clean machines, press and stamping moulds etc. in factories, without disrupting production on other lines. Using sodium bicarbonate allows food production machinery to be safely cleaned without contamination. The units are CE marked.

High level media control means excellent uniform results are achieved using less media – reducing cost, and waste collection. Correct choice of media allows effective cleaning of a large range of surfaces. Ibix  technology can in many cases achieve the same or even better results than laser cleaning at a fraction of the cost and time usually associated with that method. Low air consumption reduces compressor costs.

Ibix units can be modified for offshore applications and are PED-certified. The Ibix offshore version has a tested and certified swaged hose.

Blaster Options

Each model can be fitted to operate in one of three different modes.

  1. The Ibix Dry blaster system replaces manual sanding, scraping, wire brushing, chemical paint stripping etc. It saves work time and labour cost, and is an indispensable maintenance tool for engineering workshops, machinery maintenance crews, oil rigs, railways, and many other sites.
  2. The Ibix H2O adds a wet option – allowing dust management using a low pressure atomised water   spray   incorporated with the blasting media.
  3. Ibix Helix is a patented   gun designed for   cleaning   delicate and heritage   surfaces. Its low   velocity and tangential impact   mean minimal   impact and   faster   cleaning of a greater   surface area.

Accessories

Safety

Ibix units use a unique pistol style gun and nozzle arrangement which doubles as a deadman system for greater safety. The gun’s trigger has no effect unless a safety catch is first depressed, and there is also an excessive pressure release valve. The light weight   reduces the risk of strains and injuries.  The wet   or vacuum systems combined with inert or organic blast media and carefully controlled pressures minimise potential dust hazards.
